    I've bought 2 of these so far & would buy a third. With frequent washings (I have cats [barf] & I read newspapers in bed [ink]), they last well over 2 years in fairly nice condition though they do shrink a bit w/ washing. Pattern is neither country/traditional nor avante garde/geometric; I would describe the pattern as a "free form Chinese-y chrysanthenum" pattern that works w/ paisleys, Mission, Art deco, etc.

    11/3/07 I still haven't needed to use the one I ordered and commented upon above. I wash my coverlet (my previous one) approximately every 2 weeks & it still looks good. 2 years wear is about right. I highly recommend this item.
